This is a revision guide that you may choose to use in the run up to your Maths exams in the Summer of 2025. All the resources that are linked are free to access on the internet but we have put them all together for you here with some dates so that you can tick them off as you go. This guide is primarily aimed at students aiming for a grade 4 or 5 on the Foundation Tier.
Watch the video below for a full explaination
Each week will be 3 activities to do.
Activity 1: Topic based practice
Activity 2: The first half of a GCSE paper split into two twenty-minute sections where you mark what you have done in between
Activity 3: the second half of a GCSE paper split into two twenty-minute sections where you mark what you have done in between
There is a spreadsheet on this page that you can make a copy of or print so you can tick off what you have done and record your marks from the past paper practice.
The intention is that this gives you a basic revision plan. Ideally you will also do extra topics that you know you need to work on and if you do extra exam papers, we recommend that you split the paper into sections.
Students will often rush the early (easier) part of the paper and make silly mistakes on questions they know how to do and spend too much time on the later (harder) questions where marks are harder to come by. By splitting the paper into 20 mark sections and forcing yourself to have a full 20 minutes to do it, you will learn to pace yourself better and spend lots of time on the early questions making sure you think about them properly.
Good Luck!!!
We would really love to hear if you have found this useful or what we should change - next year we hope to expand this to all of the target grades and your input would be much appreciated. Please email team@booleanmathshub.co.uk
You can do more than what is recommended here! All you have to do is more topic practice or do the same style 20 min practice technique for a different past paper. The target marks are roughly the same for each paper so you don't need to worry about working those out.
